Star Wars Thanksgiving Tiered Tray DIY
Basically the clock struck midnight on Halloween and I took down all my decor and moved immediately moved into Thanksgiving-mode. Thanksgiving might be my favorite holiday but that’s just based on the food alone, who doesn’t love gravy?
Since I was so into making a Disney Halloween tiered tray I knew that my next one had to be Star Wars themed. We are just 48 days out from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker!
Until then I’m focused on Thanksgiving so my decor is based around porgs and food. Porgs are friends but I also eat them, what can I say. If you’re looking for Porg Chops, Porg-tatoes, or Porgin Pie, I’ve got you covered.
With that being said, I got very into this one and it brings me joy when I look at it everyday. Here’s a breakdown of how I created my Star Wars tiered tray:
As I said in my Halloween DIY, even though they’re called tiered trays you don’t have to be beholden to that. For this one I found inexpensive faux wood servers, which gave a nice outdoorsy, Fall feel.
I bought two different sizes to give a balanced look. Then I used my favorite Beeline Creative Geeki Tiki as a post. Tiki Chewbacca and porgs just make sense.
Side note: I always use museum putty to make sure everything’s secure. I live in earthquake country after all and no one wants a tumbling tray. Chewbacca is literally doing all the heavy lifting here.
Next step, I added main focal points. On top I placed a small plush porg, on the bottom I really wanted to capture that Fall vibe, so a faux bouquet added a splash of color.
Now the fun part, the tiny details. I reused everything I had at home but Target has great items in the Bullseye dollar section. I added some turkey salt and pepper shakers (for my food theme), and small pumpkins for color.
Food is a big part of Thanksgiving and my tiered tray. I found these cool Fall leaf tortilla chips at Trader Joes, and I also pulled out all the Fall colored-M&Ms and put them in a mini gravy boat.
I rounded the whole thing out with striped straws and a cute mini pie plate that I found on clearance at Anthropologie.
Now I feel ready for Fall! Or should I dismantle this and start Christmas early…too many options!
