Strawberry + Nutella Pies on a stick
I made these for Pi Day. 3.14. March 14. Hello? Is this thing on?
When I went to an awesomely nerdy ‘Pi Day’ party I brought a savory Mac ‘n’ Cheese pie but I also wanted to bring something sweet…with a nerdy touch. Plus everything tastes better on a stick.
Strawberry + Nutella Pies on a stick
Ingredients:
pie dough
strawberries, cut into small pieces
nutella
egg white
clean popsicle sticks
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Prep a baking sheet with silpats or parchment.
On a floured surface, roll out the pie dough to 1/4-inch thick. With a 2-1/2″ biscuit cutter, cut out circles and place them on the prepped baking sheet. Press the popsicle sticks into the dough so that they’ll stay put when baking.
Place the cut strawberries in the center, topping it off with a teaspoon of nutella in the center. Place a second circle of dough on top and pinch the edges closed.
Print and cut out a PI symbol for a template. With a clean x-acto knife, cut out pieces of the pie dough and place on top of the sealed pies.
Brush the tops with the egg wash and bake the pies for 12-15 minutes depending on your oven, until golden brown. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
Awesome! Very creative themed treats. 😉
Happy Pi Day!
Another fab recipe and yet another great serving platter – where did you get that one from?

Wow, they look very cute and tasty! I was wondering whether I can substitute the pie pastry with puff pastry?
Thanks
Annie 🙂
