Sweet Chili Sauce Pork Chops
Lately I can’t live without a little heat. My palate craves spicy things, not too hot but just enough to feel the burn! Sweet Chili Sauce provides a nice balance between the sweet AND the heat.
Usually used as a dipping sauce I like to use it as a marinade. It adds just the right amount of sweetness and when it cooks up, the caramelized flavor is beyond compare. Sweet Chili Sauce Pork Chops are an easy weekday dinner full of sweet heat!
Sweet Chili Sauce Pork Chops
Ingredients:
4 boneless pork chops
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons sweet chili sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
juice of half a lime
fresh pepper
Instructions:
In a small bowl whisk together the soy sauce, sugar, chili sauce, garlic, lime juice and pepper.
Pour the sauce over the chops in a baking dish and marinate in the refrigerator for one hour.
In a skillet over medium-high heat add a small amount of oil and cook the chops 2 to 3 minutes on the first side. Flip and cook until the chops are golden brown on the other side, 1 to 2 minutes until no longer pink in the middle.
Ooh, Thai chili sauce — that stuff makes everything beter. I bet that the marinade would go well with chicken, too 🙂
Hi….Could I possibly do this in the crock pot? If so how would I change the liquid amounts? Ty 🙂
@Misty Absolutely. Just add a 1/4 cup of water or orange juice.
Instead of sugar, could you use maple syrup or honey?
I made these O.M.G. they were so good and a huge hit!!!!
I am doing a remake today lol just put them in the marinade to leave for the afternoon
THEN COOK THEM FOR DINNER!!!
Do they turn out as well in the crockpot?
