Tangled cupcake toppers how-to
Sometimes you don’t have time to sculpt an entire Superman logo out of fondant…or shape Princess Leia’s hairpiece out of cookies. Am I right? Er. I realize *I’m* just the crazy one. Ok, so what if you are having a themed party with a movie…that hasn’t even come out yet?!
That’s what happened when I was asked to make ‘Tangled’ cupcakes. The movie was yet to be released, but that didn’t mean the PR machine wasn’t in full effect. I was unfamiliar with the characters but the branding was already everywhere. I happened to be at Disneyland (when am I not) and picked up some ‘Tangled’ stickers at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.
I placed the stickers on a simple white paper background and cut out an edge. I could have done fancier scalloped edges, but I didn’t want to take away from the color and cuteness of the stickers.
I cut around the edges and glued them to toothpicks – and voila! Instant totally cute toppers!
I popped them on top of lemon cupcakes (recipe, here) that I sprinkled with light pink sanding sugar. It gave the cupcakes a little magical sparkle for a very special birthday girl!
I had some of these lemon beauties and they were delicious and adorable! Funny enough I wondered when I was eating one where you got the stickers from 😉 <3
Brilliant. Sometimes the best ideas are the simple ones!
