Teri Beef
One night I had no idea what to make for dinner, I threw this together quickly and now it’s become almost a weekly meal. The kids love it because it’s so full of comfort and flavor. I love it because it takes minutes to prepare!
ingredients:
1 lb thinly sliced beef (shabu shabu meat, sukiyaki meat…)
1/2 onion, thinly sliced
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup mirin
3 Tablespoons sugar
1 Tablespoon cornstarch
2 Tablespoons water
In a bowl combine the soy sauce, mirin and sugar. In a small bowl combine the cornstarch and water to make a runny paste. Add that cornstarch mixture to the soy sauce mixture and stir well.
In a pan over medium-high heat, saute the onions until soft. Add the thinly sliced beef until just cooked through. This will only take a few minutes since the beef is so thin.
Pour the soy sauce mixture over the meat in the pan. Cover and let simmer for 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Serve over hot rice. With lightsaber chopsticks.

Looks so good. My stomach is growling! Time to find lunch.
just made this tonite!! Soooooo yummy, and fast!!
I also added some mushrooms and green veggies. I think you could also add carrots too and make a 1 pot meal (with rice on the side). 🙂 Thanks Jenn!!!
I made this tonight! As my husband would say… Just like yoshinoya! Thanks for the recipe! It was yummy! I added green onions 😉
