The Best Star Wars Party in the Galaxy

Best Star Wars Party in the Galaxy

Families from Hawaii do first birthday parties up big time and my friend had the unenviable task of making this particular one a double celebration. Her twins were turning one and for sure it was going to be a huge first birthday. Naturally, there’s nothing better for a double celebration than a Star Wars themed party and this one was truly the Best Star Wars Party in the Galaxy.

Star Wars utensils and drinks

The drink station had Vader-ade, Yoda Soda made of lime sherbet and Sprite, Tatooine Iced Tea for those hot twin sun days and of course, R2-D2 H2O.

Star Wars snacks

All Jedi need a little sugar rush to get them through and the snack table included Cereal in a Jar Jar, TIE fighters made with marshmallows and cookies, lightsaber pretzels and wookiee cookies.

Star Wars appetizers

You can’t have a party without appetizers. Edamame Yoda Ears, Millennium Falcorn popcorn, and a nod to Filipino heritage with some delicious Luke’s Lumpia. Mmm…fried Star Wars food is the best Star Wars food. Along with veggies and chips came intergalctic dip: Separatist Salsa, Jabba the Hummus and Sarlaac Pit Dip.

Star Wars party food

The theme was BBQ and all the food was labeled appropriately, The Chancellor’s Chicken Salad, Boba’s Brisket, Palpatine’s Pork, Leia’s Buns, Padawan Mac n Cheese and Bantha Beans, rounding out the feast.

Star Wars party decorations

Decoration is key she decorated with fun Star Wars balloons anchored with my personal favorite collectible, Hallmark Star Wars Itty Bittys. The photo booth area had the droids you’re looking for with two twin R2-D2 pinatas ready for their close up.

Star Wars Jedi Training

Along with all the food, there were craft tables as well as hand sewn Padawan robes and homemade light sabers for a Jedi Training sequence that ended in an epic battle with Darth Vader. There was also another epic battle with a Death Star Pinata but with a line up of 30 kids with a bat, that space station didn’t stand a chance.

Star Wars cupcakes and smash cake

Knowing how much my friend had on her plate, I wanted to make a small contribution in the form of dessert. The cupcakes I made for her first child that landed on the cover of Food Network Magazine, so for this party I made sure that these brothers had just the same amount of love and care when it came to their first taste of dessert.

I made Rebels v Empire cupcakes for the guests, vanilla and chocolate cupcakes topped with Star Wars Rebels cookies and Galactic Empire cookies. Which side did the kids choose? I’m pretty sure the Dark Side won out on the account of chocolate. For the baby’s smash cakes, two twin mini Chewbacca cakes. Modeled after my Fandango wookiee cookies, these cakes were four inches of pure adorableness.

I love all the ideas. My oldest wants a Star Wars party. I love the Luke Lumpia. Being half Filipino it’s just a must to make when we have parties.
