The Best Sugar Cookie Recipe
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, cookie baking time! While I bake cookies year round, there’s something special about the holidays and baking for friends and family. Maybe it’s the warmth of the oven in cooler weather or the smells of fresh baked goods, you just can’t help but feel happy.
Holiday baking is a huge undertaking for me, sometimes I find myself baking over 150 cookies a day. Whether you’re baking that much or just a few dozen, an infallible cookie dough recipe is a must.
This recipe for basic sugar cookies can be punched up any way you like. Add some cocoa powder for chocolatey cookies, cinnamon and nutmeg for a little warmth, or lemon for some fruit flavor. This base dough is what I start with for my colored doughs to create fun and colorful edible creations.
