Toy Story 4 Giggle McDimples Cookies

It’s hard to believe it’s been 9 years since the last Toy Story, but Woody, Buzz, and all the gang have stayed in our hearts this whole time. So I was really excited to see the return of our favorite characters and their new friends revealed for Toy Story 4!

As a huge Keanu fan, I was thrilled for Keanu Reeves as Duke Caboom of course, but it was even more awesome to see the announcement of my pal Ally Maki as Giggle McDimples!

Officer Giggle McDimples is a miniature plastic doll from the 1980s Giggle McDimples toy line. As a toy, Officer Giggle McDimples is head of Pet Patrol for Mini-opolis, overseeing search and rescue. But out in the world, Giggle is Bo Peep’s best friend. Often seen perched on Bo’s shoulder, Giggle is Bo’s confidant, supporter and advisor. She is little and adorable and I couldn’t wait to make cookies of the tiny toy!

Ally is such a great advocate for Asian-Americans—she founded the AAGC: Asian American Girl Club—an organization to empower other Asian American women. So I knew wanted the cookie to be an ode to the Japanese biscuits I love so much, which are usually flavorful with clean designs.

I had a custom cookie cutter made which brought out all of Giggle’s adorable features. For the flavors I used a combination of brown sugar cookie dough and chocolate dough, then added a few gold details, making for a sweet little tribute to Giggle herself.

Check out Toy Story 4 when it opens in theaters everywhere on June 21st!

Toy Story 4 Giggle McDimples Cookies

Ingredients:

Brown Sugar Cookie Dough
Chocolate Cookie Dough
black icing
gold food gel dye
gold luster dust

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prep baking sheets with parchment or silpats.

Roll out the brown sugar dough to 1/4-inch thick.

Use the cutter to cut out the outline, then the press for the details. Move to the prepped cookie sheet.

Carefully cut out the hat and set aside. Cut off the hair and the shoes. You should be left with a dough impression of her face and body only.

Roll out the chocolate dough to 1/4-inch thick.

Cut out the hair and shoes. Place the hair around the head, and line up the shoes at the bottom of the cookie. Once this bakes it will form into one complete cookie.

Bake for 10 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack.

Once cool, use the black icing to create the face details and the tie.

Using a clean kitchen paintbrush, add the gold details to the hat and the belt.

Once the icing and paint are dry, the cookies are ready to serve.
