Witch’s Hat Cookies
Halloween season is here and these days I prefer cute costumes and cookies to being scared out of my wits. I was invited to visit Knott’s Berry Farm’s Camp Spooky, a celebration for little ones that’s more cheer than fear! Definitely my kind of Halloween!
ingredients:
sugar cookies
ice cream cones
black icing
frosting
small plastic halloween toys
They set up a workshop demonstrating their fun Kooky Cookie Painting craft. A chef showed us how to dip cookie and ice cream cones in black frosting. Then the cone is placed in the center to set. It already looks just like a witch’s hat!
Piping bags of various colored frostings were available for the kids to add leaves, pumpkins and some even added their names. Plastic Halloween decor is added and held into place with more icing. The spider rings were a particularly creepy touch.
This is an easy and fun craft to do for a kids Halloween party. I would fill the ice cream cone with candy for an even more festive Halloween touch!
**full disclosure: I was invited by Knott’s Berry Farm to Camp Spooky. All opinions are my own.
