Banana Nutella Bundt
Today is National Bundt Day, aka the day of rest for The Food Librarian who has been posting a bundt a day for 30 days leading up to this point. I helped her with a fun Doll Bundt which so inspired me that I decided to participate by baking one today!
While still not a banana fan, I couldn’t resist making a Banana Nutella Bundt. The beautiful interior swirl is hard to resist, nothing like a hint of Nutella to make sweets even sweeter!
I have Lots of childhood memories of bundt cake, and I hope you do too. Happy National Bundt Day!
Banana Nutella Bundt
Ingredients:
2-1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
pinch of salt
3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
4 mashed bananas
3 eggs
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1/3 cup nutella
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and prep a bundt pan by greasing it with melted butter.
In a large bowl whisk the flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Add the butter, mashed bananas, eggs and vanilla. Pour into the prepped bundt pan.
Right on top, add the Nutella in the center of the batter.
Using a butter knife pull and swirl the nutella into the bundt.
Bake for 45-50 minutes depending on your oven. Let cool for 30 minutes in the pan, then invert onto a wire rack to finish cooling.
I’ll admit, I was never a bundt cake girl growing up — when you have a bundt cake, that means little or no frosting. For shame! But, I outgrew that (thankfully) and love, love, love the birthday bundt cakes my husband’s aunt makes for me each year. Since we belatedly celebrated this year, I had a Halloween-themed orange and chocolate swirl bundt with the yummiest spread of orange cream cheese frosting and massive amounts of Halloween sprinkles and jimmies.
And, sad trombone, indeed, for kid. Thankfully, hazelnuts are more easily avoidable than peanuts. Hope he recovered from his allergy discovery quickly!
Awesome bundt! Love the nutella swirl in the middle, YUM! 🙂
I discovered this recipe-your recipe God knows how many years ago! I’ve made this bundt cake a million times! It always comes out perfect and it’s always a huge success with my friends and family. I just wanted to say thank you. <3
That’s great! Glad you love it!
is it 1/4 cup melted butter or 1-1/2 stick butter?
